Africa’s slow development is rooted in colonial extraction, crippling debt, and growth-stifling austerity. How can the continent take back agency, move forward and achieve long-term growth?
Question is how much is Africa's problems due to arbitrary lines drawn on a map with no regard to ethnic boundaries, same thing with India in which disparate ethnicities were unwillingly crammed together in the creation of British Imperialism that is modern India which is a contributing factor as to why India has failed to emulate China's economic rise
You are right! And one can argue India is doing better than a generalized Africa (and we spoke a little about this). The defragmented Africa of tiny economies is a disadvantage; it limits trade and growth unlike in India and so much more in China. The idea that population is an advantage only applies when it becomes a unitary variable -- it is not the case in Africa. And that's why one of the key suggestions is for Africa to embrace the free trade agreement and form a trade block with free movement of people.
